The Kriselle Cellars 2023 Suelo Rocoso is a perfect example of the beauty that can be captured with blending. Two grape varieties, Tempranillo and Grenache, come together to balance one another and create a zesty yet complex wine of incredible qualities. The 2023 vintage is especially fruit forward, while secondary impressions of minerality and earthiness complete its profile. Initially, the aromas and flavors are fresh, red-fruit driven, with notes of Bing cherry, strawberry jam, and Santa Rosa plum intermingling with warm, savory notes of cedar. Spicy and earthy hints of white pepper and wet gravel meet the fruit to create enticing layers of flavor. The 2023 Suelo Rocoso is medium bodied, with a lively mid-palate and bright acidity, and medium-minus tannins. This wine will pair seamlessly with tomato-based dishes, the cuisines of Spain or Italy. And exotic, lightly spiced dished with come to life when paired with Suelo Rocoso.
