The soil at our vineyard site is truly unique.
Our grapes grow on a south-facing slope that is located between the Upper Table Rock Plateau and the Rogue River. The river has shaped our area’s geology and soils. Thousands of years of alluvial deposits and geologic upsets have resulted in a site composed of a mix of round river rock and silts.
This low-vigor soil that our vines are planted in does not allow our vines to produce large amounts of fruit—the plants have to struggle. However, we consider this well worth it since the end result is grapes of incredible depth and character, with focused, intense flavors. This exceptional fruit forms the cornerstone of our premium wines.
We like to say there’s a millennia in every bottle.
